Add widget to lock screen

[Android Central Question]

I have surfed the net but cannot find any information specific to adding widgets to the home screen for the Moto g4 plus running Android Oreo 8. Basically I would like to add a stock ticker to my lock screen so I only have to press the power button to get an update on my stocks. Anyone figure this out?

Welcome to Android Central! It's not possible. Lockscreen widgets ended with Lollipop, so I don't believe there's a way to add your own widgets. There might be 3rd party lockscreen apps, but I'm not sure if they work well on Oreo.
