Adios VZW and TBOLT

T-mobile customer service was some of the best I've ever had. I usually think about customer service like I do umpires - when they do right, I don't think about it and when they do wrong, I hate them. So it takes excellent service for me to say, "wow this is great service" and that's what I got with T-mobile. I haven't had to call in a long time, but back when I did, I remember thinking it was great that the reps I spoke with were polite, well-spoken, eager to help, knowledgeable, and empowered to do something about my issues. (I've read that their customer service ratings have ebbed somewhat lately - not sure what that means in practice though).

But I'm in a hinterland area, which for T-mobile means spotty coverage. If you travel to lots of random places for work, for example, they're not the best choice. If you're in a significantly peopled area or along the corridors in between them you're fine.

I'd be a bit wary of going with either T-mobile or AT&T as this merger progresses. That may not be rational, but it just makes me think of headaches to come.

You are one lucky person... Lets put it this way: T-Mobile has about 5 customers left, and they are not there for the customer service.

So I'm pretty sure I'm leaving Verizon and my TBOLT when the Sensation comes out on TMobile. Anyone else?

T-Mobile is a train headed for a wreck. If AT&T takes them over, then say goodbye to decent pricing. If AT&T does NOT take them over, they will be bankrupt really, really soon. They are on a downward spiral of losing customers quickly, and the prices they are charging are not enough to allow for any real profits.

In other words: The Sensation is an awesome phone. Would you take a free Sensation if the only catch was that you have to ride the Titanic on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic? Yes, T-Mobile is the Titanic of national carriers unless something changes soon.

Not only does T-Mobile suck and the reception is terrible, I HATE when I call my friends on T-Mobile and I get the recording "I'm sorry but all circuits are busy" WTF? Is this a third world?

I remember when Sprint was the Titanic of national carriers.Things can change.T-Mobile has some nice smartphones, now and in the pipeline. The bigger question is how good is T-Mobile's HSPA+ network(and AT&T's) where the OP needs it to work.

I couldn't help but lmao at this, sorry

why? it was a simple inquiry to the android community. To those of you who provided honest input I verymuch appreciate it. Your feedback is precisely why I posted and will help me make a more informed decision. For those of you who schoff and laugh at someone asking for some simple advice I'm not sure what to think of you...

I meant no disrespect, and am not laughing at you, I couldn't help but notice that no one here agreed with the op what so ever.

Edit: I've only been a verizon user, know nothing else and have never had any problems, if you do go to tmobile best of luck.

I'll give T-Mobile credit for one thing. Their marketing plan is genius

Ha! No.

T-Mobile cellular coverage is at best on par with the neighborhood kids running around talking with two cans tied together by a piece of string

People REALLY need to stop switching carriers based on Devices. You're prob gonna pay an ETF in 8 months since you'll be fed up with the service. Verizon, overall has the best signal and LTE is waaaaay better than anything that TMo can pump out. Have fun realizing that TMo's "4G" is almost nowhere and you'll end up in EDGE most of the time.

So, you're going to move to a massively inferior carrier with poor coverage and slow "4G" so that you can get what is basically a slightly upgraded Thunderbolt? Um, OK? And then two or three months later VZW will get an even newer HTC phone. Are you going to then switch back again?

I just left att for verizon. I am paying a little more, but I finally have service. T-Mobile is even worse in my area than att - which is adequate at best.

A device can be spec'd out, but if it doesn't work due to bad service, you have nothing.

Been on T-Mobile and I would never go back. In the Chicago are, Verizon is dominant. I dropped so many calls with T-Mobile and I was in a supposedly excellent coverage area. Have fun...

I am pretty jealous of T-Mobile's upcoming and current line-up, G2X, Sensation, Hercules, Doubleshot, etc. Their line-up is much better than Verizon's currently IMO. But then again, they may be trying due to being the smallest carrier and reportedly losing many customers and about to get swallowed by ATT. Even if ATT doesn't swallow them, another comapny probably will (whether a competing carrier or not, eg. Comcast), they most likely won't survive on their own now, which is sad to hear.

T-Mobile is doing a HECK of a job to try to sway me back over to them, and I'm a VZW employee with VZW service right now! I really am liking their phone selection!

I'm fine with their coverage in my area, its the data that kills it for me. I am a huge data hog, I hardly use my minutes and texts, and so cannot stand ATT and T-Mobile capping me. Verizon and Sprint so far are the only ones with unlimited data. If Verizon gets rid of it and I cannot be grandfathered, then I go with Sprint. Slower and less building penetration unlimited Wimax wins out over faster, better building penetration but capped LTE IMO.
