So prior to the 2.2 update, I could adjust the brightness setting on my Epic 4G via the notification bar by sliding my finger left and right.

After the update, it seems I can't do that anymore. Is this a feature that was left off, or is there some setting I have to "turn on" for this to work?

I liked being able to manually adjust the brightness to how I liked it, and I hate the auto brightness function.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

He wasn't asking how to turn off auto brightness but about the status bar feature...

I'm in the same boat and would like to know as well.

You misunderstood... You must turn off auto brightness before that function works. Froyo most likely turned that function on when it updated. I just tried it and it worked perfectly.

Yes I guess the person responding the the OP wasn't clear enough on that..

Goto settings>display>brightness>turn off automatic brightness

Then uncheck the "auto brightness" box and then your status bar "finger slide" will adjust the brightness.

P.S. Froyo is a bit more fussy on the status bar slide, it doesn't react as quickly as Eclair 2.1 did some people have reported.
