Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

This didn't work. I think that there is in fact a WiFi bug that drains battery. Tomorrow I will turn WiFi off for the most part of the day and post my results.

I have the ATT S6 and I'm getting awesome battery life with WiFi on the whole day. Have you checked the advance WiFi settings?

No offence, but this is exactly why people don't bother with Android. Does everything need to be micromanaged? What a joke. You need instructions on how to adjust your phone so that it works how it should have been working out the box

Huge Android fan BTW, don't like iOS or Windows but I like to play devil's advocate in this case

It seems that your definition of micromanage is different than mine, this is a One Time thing, One time only, I do it for ALL the devices I buy (7 in the past 12 months) so no, I'm not trying to justify Samsung and the S6, I did all this even with the Z3 that has by far the best battery life or any other smartphone at the moment.

This take me 5 minutes at most and after that I don't ever take a look at those settings again with the exception of those on the Toggles, I don't need Bluetooth, Location, NFC or other features on all the time, turn them on when need them, don't understand why that should be consider as micromanage but instead I see it as the best use of the resources, the same applies for every single electronic device out there, you don't let them on all the time, you just turn them on when needed.

Go to recovery Mode and do a Wipe Cache Partition and put it to charge to 100% again so it reset the battery stats and see what happens.

Does the HD Calling and HD Voice option drain battery? Is that the same as Volte?

I have Verizon

No, that's not the same as VoLTE, and the HD Voice is like when the TV and radio was transitioned to Digital, is integrated into the signal and available of your device is capable of it.

Wow those are much better than mine. Can you send a picture of what it looks like from battery usage in settings?
I'll post of a pic later on tonight since I can't go back to yesterday's usage. I'll mention you when I post the pic...

Some call it micro-management others call it customization and tuning the device to your needs and usage habits. That's the attraction of Android.

I went into safe mode for about 4 hours, updated Samsung push service, and cleared the cache partition. My standby is now much less.
I also didn't use safe mode today, which is also an improvement in my battery life.
I went into safe mode around 11:30, updated Samsung Push Service around 3:30, and cleared the cache partition right after that.

Those who are getting really good screen on time - what are your brightness settings? Do you guys keep it at the lowest brightness or something?

You had that much screen time and you were only at 40%? Please tell us what you changed I want mine to last that long :(

It's pretty much the same thing as the OP suggested to do. Follow that, but also check your sync settings. There might be some apps that are syncing the whole day and turn them off.

Also calibrate the battery. As soon as your phone is completely charged, turn the phone off completely. Let it charge to 100% again (Yes, even though it was already charged completely). Turn the phone on and let it charge completely again. Hope this helps...
I can't really remember what you have done to your settings, so can you make a summary of it to the benefit of others, those stats looks great.

Not the lowest brightness but the lowest that is good for me, in my case around 15-20%, more than that and it begins to bother me, I only use the Auto Brightness while I'm at outdoor.

Also Check WiFi Advance Settings and make sure they look similar to this:

Disabling some of these options will improve battery life...
