*Advanced Calling 1.0

Yeah, I checked around and there is no body that I have to check it out and see how well it works. I am kinda curious as how much data a video call will pull from your data pool since it's supposed to be HD video.
Hey we can all exchange phone numbers and call each other to check it out...LOL...Just kidding. ;)

That's why I am hanging onto my unlimited data plan. :)

Its suppose to be free

I edited my post because I thought he was talking about HD voice calls. And yes, supoosedly HD voice calls are supposed to be included in the plan, only video calls are supposed to count against your data allotment. Otherwise they'd better up their data tiers.

That is correct. But I think video calling is free when you are wifi.

That's almost half a GB for a I hour video call. I think I'll stick with Skype or Yahoo video messenger, at least those can be used on WiFi.
Advanced calling can be used on WiFi. Also if you are on 4gLTE and enter an area with a saved WiFi it will switch over automatically

I have a stupid question. I'm on a government account through my University Alumni Association. I had to call them and contact verizon to add the feature. I received an email from verizon directly stating the feature was added. I've restarted my phone but am not noticing anything anywhere telling me I have VOLTE. How am I supposed to tell I have it?

You should see it here in your settings. Also during a call you should see new buttons for video calling on your dialer.

The video calls are very clear with advanced calling, but now my battery in general is in the suck category. Discharging 6-10 percent an hour when it used to discharge 1-3 per hour.

That's nice to know. I figured it was just another way for Verizon try and make some extra coin off of it's customers, it wouldn't be the first time.

No matter how great the call quality is, with that kind of a change in battery life I don't think it's worth it if that's the case for all phones using this feature.

I agree. I am going to give it a few days and see if the battery settles down. Motorola does not seem to be asking about battery usage after the download. My battery was not as good as it was in the beginning anyway. This update just seemed to make it worse.
