*Advanced Calling 1.0

Visual voice mail added a free tier last July.
Yes, they added a free option "Basic Visual Voice Mail" a couple of months ago, unrelated to Advanced Calling. When I added Advanced Calling 1.0 to my account, it indicated that standard voice mail was incompatible and switched me to Basic Visual Voice Mail, with no additional monthly charge.

I just got 23.3.24. I understand that HD voice and video calling work only with other Verizon VoLTE users, but is HD Voice the only supported voice call type with LTE? What I mean is, is VoLTE used (with a non-HD codec) when calling others, or do all other calls use CDMA?

Here are a couple of links that will help understand some of how it works without getting down into the weeds of it:

I am still confused. Does this mean that iPhone users will only get simultaneous voice/data if they are talking to another Verizon Advanced Calling user? And 6-way calling would also only work if all of the people on the call are likewise using Advanced Calling (I tried this, and it worked fine for non-VoLTE numbers). These two functions definitely require that the call be handled over VoLTE, albeit not necessarily HD. I sort of would like to get down into the weeds about what is supported in this initial release, since, at least how I read it, the information is not all consistent.

Yes, though cdma and wifi allow simultaneous voice and data (and always has.)

I disabled CDMA by changing the Mobile Networks setting to LTE/GSM/UMTS and placed a call to a landline. The call went through. When I called *611, the call went to International Roaming Support rather than the usual Customer Support . So the phone CAN make calls over LTE to non-Advanced Calling numbers if CDMA is not available.

Thanks Charles...I remember looking at the network settings and was going to try something similar but never got back to it.

My phone was already set to Global. So I have not had any problems before or after the upgrade. I am able to do bother calling and data connection. Works fine. Just would like to test the Advance calling feature.

I added Advanced Calling back to my line again today. I had one call from my living room. I never have reception problems. I found myself having to walk outside to keep from dropping the call. Over and over again I find myself asking can you hear me now? This just doesn't seem ready for prime time yet.

It works very well with Hangouts. I get immediate notification integrated in my Hangouts.

I had my first voicemail since the Hangouts change. I noticed the unread call notification in my bar, I went into Hangouts and the voicemail was there. But I was never notified by Hangouts of the unread voicemail. This is pretty much what happened with the old Google Voice app with me, too.

I'm still going to stick with GV, though - I obviously don't get many VMs...

I'm also having the same issue with my DROID Turbo, but Verizon doesn't seem to understand . Were you able to get your problem fixed?

I gave up on the HD calling, VoLTE because of all the dropped calls and enabled it just recently when my wife's Droid Turbo git it. Her dropped call rate exceeded 50%. Now she cant be on the phone and have internet too without it. WE live in the San Fernando Valley and have seen our Verizon service decline steadily over the last few months.

I just got the 24.3.7 update. I don't see anything different, but while browsing the forum posts I came across this topic about advanced calling. I signed into my account and went to free services. HD voice was listed. I tried to download it, but got a message stating it wasn't available. Based on other posts here, it seems like others have it for the droid Maxx. If the hd voice add on isn't available, then why is listed on the Verizon website?
