Advanced Task Killer

I woke up this morning and checked my phone and I had a notification for Advanced Task Killer. It said "Menu->Settings to disable this. Sat, Nov 20, 2010"

Since Froyo 2.2, I did not have a task killer installed. It appears that this was pushed down and installed on my phone last night. Anyone else seeing this?

Also, I thought a task killer was not necessary in Froyo 2.2.

Any information would be helpful and appreciated.

Sounds more like it was a push of some programming to disable ATK on your system but you aren't running it anyway, so it shouldn't make a difference.
I was wondering how long it would take for ATK to be locked out/disabled on 2.2 due to all the problems it causes..
Hopefully, the time has finally come to kill ATK on 2.2 !!

The strange thing is that it's actually running on my phone now and even shows up as an app on one of my home screens. I guess I just need to go in and uninstall it?

I'd definitely get that Crap out ASAP ...
After this recent November POS-OTA "update" I guess it wouldn't surprise me if the
morons at VZW put a mandatory ATK on our phones too.
If I get it and can't remove ATK, this Dinc is going to be history, I've had enough.

I went ahead and uninstalled it. Gone now.
