Android Central Question

Recently I got software update notification in my S9. After ignoring it for a couple of weeks, I found that it wouldn't go away. So I downloaded it and installed it. Since then, I have been getting unwanted ads. It is very annoying. What can I do to get rid of it?

I don't think update is responsible for that. What kind of ads and in what form they show up?

These advertisements are from Google Play. This started only after I had updated the software. . These advertisements are from apps at Google Play

Just because it is advertising something in the Google Play store it does not mean that it is coming directly from the Google Play app.

It is most likely a 3rd party app that is serving an advertising stream that includes that message.

Have you booted in safe mode to see if the ads continue?

Thank you for your reply. How do I start in the safe mode and what happens when I don that? Can you kindly expand your reply?

Now I find that the multi window function doesn't work with the latest update! Am I missing something?

The dolts at Samsung chose to downgrade the split screen and recents features. Instead of press and hold the recents button you must click it once, pick an app, click the logo, scroll down to split screen on the menu, then do the same with a 2nd app. The first window is minimized until the 2nd app is opened.

Oh, and once it is going beware. Hitting the back button on the 2nd screen might make the page show up on the 1st screen.
