I'm looking on many places and seeing that most tutorials are dated in 2010, and this makes me a little nervous. I'm getting a Droid soon and had a laundry list of ideas to play with on it, but want to be sure I'm headed in the right direction. I'm particularly concerned with the FRS that is built into the Droid. This is what I want to do out of the box:
1. Root
2. Backups: just to cover my butt in case something goes wrong!
3. ROMs: Particularly CM6 or 7, any advice?
4. Overclock: Not much, just a little bit (800 MHz?)
What's the best direction to head in? I'm not a novice in terms of computers, so I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty, just want to be sure I'm headed in the right direction!
This seems like the most detailed so far, just out of date? Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
