After EVO, I miss "Sense UI"

Picked up the Nexus-S 4G for both my Wife and I yesterday, love the form factor and light weight, and fits very nicely in the hand, the colors on the screen are very deep and rich.

Compering to my EVO, which was rooted with Myn's ROM, I am having a hard time adjusting to the vanilla Android design, vs Sense UI. There were just a few things I really liked about Sense, the e-mail for non gmail accounts was perfect, the dialer and contacts were done nicely, the browser and bookmarks were much better than stock vanilla Android.

I plan to Root my Nexus-S today, and wait for the official release of CM 7, that includes 2.3.4

Yep, i was one of the weirdos that prefer Sense too... currently running stock ROM on rooted EVO, looking for a "complete" Sense-based GB ROM.

Take a look at dialer one for a dialing app that is somewhat similar to the HTC dialer.

I feel ya man, though I gotta say I love me some vanilla Android. Just a blank canvas for me to do whatever I want. I will say, for the longest time I keep Sense strictly for the radio control widgets. Namely the Mobile date widget, that widget alone saved me so much battery I couldn't even count the percentage. Honestly, that's why I moved to Vaelpack. It's as stock as you can get but still be on a Sensed based ROM and now that I flashed Netarchy lastest more-HAVS kernal my battery life is UH-MAZE-ING!!! Heck, give Sprint Lovers ROM a try. All the benifits of Sense with the added BONUS of being able to UNISTALL all the bloat you want. It's my go to NAND if I ever have any problems. ;)

well you do have 30 days to try, give it a go and return if you don't like it. Just think of it as a rest for your trusty EVO.

Thanks. In 30 days or so the EVO 3D will be out. But I am loving the formfactor and lightweight feel to this Nexus -S. Plus the screen colors are very rich and beautiful.

I think once CM 7.1 is out that will make this phone a warp speed monster and better than my EVO. One thing I Sid jot like about the EVO was the thick and heavy feel. In summer that phone was too big for shirt pockets and felt like a brick.

I am thinking 99% this Nexus -S is a keeper :)

I also prefer the Sense UI to vanilla Android for its looks and functionality. Vanilla Android isn't that attractive.

I miss touchwiz on my Epic. I loved the ability to quickly activate/deactivate radios on the fly via notification menu.

I also prefer the Sense UI to vanilla Android as garage as looks and functionality. Vanilla Android isn't that attractive.

You'd be surprised at what you can do with vanilla android, in fact if one was so inclined you can pretty much emulate the sense look.

I have the incredible with launcher pro plus using a sense skin! I love sense but hate the app/phone/widget dock on sense! It's perfect now! Lol

bleh, that is if one even wants facebook integration with their phone, heh, but yeah I hear ya there.

Exactly my thoughts. I have my Droid X for my personal use. My Nexus S4G (which comes TODAY!!!!!!!!) is going to be my strictly business phone. I won't even be installing the Facebook app on it (just LinkedIn), so I'm not worried about contact integration.

For all the sense lovers out there, one thing that can never be recreated as well as the original is the HTC_IME (keyboard). HERE

I gotta agree. I love the Gingerbread keyboard, my fingers can fly around it. The HTC keyboard though....just works. Maybe its because I got used to it before I started really messing with my phone, but idk....I always end up coming back to it. It's just so good. :-)
