After KitKat update - unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped

Clearing the Google Play Store cache (in Task Manager) got rid of these annoying messages every few minutes, for me. No need to uninstall anything. I don't have Swype.

[EDIT: Oh no it didn't. An hour or so later and it is back again.]

I finally managed to fix this problem, which was driving me mad. Clearing caches of Google apps and services helped for a while, but the error message inevitably returned. I have not seen it for over 2 days since clearing the cache of Google Play Store in Taskmanager, then clearing the data, stopping the app and rebooting. Everything has been fine since, including using the Play Store. In my case at least, it appears that Play Store had corrupted its own data and that caused it to stop every time it tried to access the damaged data. Maybe this will help someone else with the same annoying problem.

Hi. There is likely an app that is causing the problem. For me, it turned out to be my keyboard app. If you have a third-party keyboard (especially Swiftkey), you might try uninstalling and reinstalling it. I have heard of some other apps causing this problem as well, but it seems that once it's uninstalled/reinstalled, the error goes away.

I also think so. For me, uninstalling and reinstalling is the main solution.
