After OTA update failure---What happens to the downloaded update?

I have a rooted LG Stylo from Cricket that attempted to download and install a large software update. The phone downloaded the update and then attempted to begin the installation. It failed of course because the phone is rooted. Is the update that was downloaded still on the phone someplace or does it get deleted?

I'm not sure, but I would guess the download is somewhere in the cache partition. Are you able to wipe the cache, if you have a custom recovery? The stock LG recovery typically doesn't give you that option.
