After using the Note20 ultra would you buy it again?

It's one update that you will get shortly. Again it's Verizon's choice not Samsungs. All future phones will already be ready to go just the sad luck of the draw from how it was initially released.
I have less than zero interest in the beta and while 5g might not be a big deal for you it might be for someone else. I don't want to have to run a beta on my phone to get an update that I should already have. The whole point of buying unlocked it to get the updates first whatever they may be. Important to you or not.

Don't forget call & text on other devices(tablet feature), native call blocking, Samsung cloud and in my case unlimited hotspot. The Verizon variants are way to restrictive in terms of features.
No way would I get the carrier model on Verizon. It didn't take that long for unlocked to get that camera update. The unlocked gets the monthly security updates first. You also can't get Android beta on the carrier model. I'm on beta on the S20 and it included the 5G update. The Nationwide 5G is no big deal anyway. The beta will be out for the Note 20 in a few days.
You also can't get Find My Mobile on the carrier version.

Buy whatever suits you but the point of buying unlocked was never specifically about getting updates first. Updates in some cases remain in the hands of the carriers.

There are too many variations of features to list but great point

I bought mine a week ago, this thing is so beautiful And I like looking at it.Things I don’t like is that, it’s bulky camera bump, I miss few Apple services to an extent and lastly I miss my Apple Watch.

The only thing I would do different is I'd buy it through Verizon instead of unlocked. I'm still waiting for the update to get 5G. I tried flashing the stock firmware for Verizon but it didn't work. Gave me an error and had to flash back to unlocked.

I just got my unlocked N20U today and as soon as I popped in my sim I got a message saying the phone would reboot to install enhanced carrier features or something like that. And then...

Needless to say this combined with the 120 hz means I couldn't be happier!! This phone is amazing. So long Apple.

It's truly hard to compare Apple and Android products - it's like apples and oranges. Some users will prefer the simplicity and smooth UI of Apple whereas others will prefer the customization and plethora of choices available with Android. I say go with what you think you will have the most fun using! And let us know what you decide, please!

I think it's more like comparing Apples and Androids....

I thought I had answered this on page one of this thread and said a resounding "YES", but just looked and couldn't find it! Anyway, I was coming here to add a new post to say after a couple of more weeks of thought (and use - and granted, some of this is related to AT&T, software, etc), I've decided that if I had it to do over, I think I might just KEEP my Note 9 and save the cash!!! I'm starting to believe other folks on here (though I traded my Note 9 in so can't compare) that it may have actually taken better pictures (other than the extra Zoom features). If I look back at some of my scenery shots, even night photos taken with the Note 9... let me tell you? Why did I trade it in? (and of course, I bought it outright) Anyway, I don't have a lot of choice now... live with it or wait for the next big Samsung Deal - or maybe UI3.0/Android 11.0 will have some major fixes that make me feel better??? We'll see... AT&T will be the LAST to adopt it too, so there's that as well.

I hereby relinquish the soapbox!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with any flagship phone these days. I find it interesting that Samsung fans often claim the Apple "fanboys" get taken for a ride each year but so do Samsung. You can buy a pixel for example thats much cheaper then both and is a great phone with a camera just as good. Everyone is bias to what they personally prefer. I was a huge Samsung fan. I have owned more Samsung devices then any other, however in recent times i have started to prefer the iphone.

Not because its better per say but its as good and i prefer it. Where i come from the Note 20 Ultra for example is priced slightly more expensive then the Iphone 12 pro max. Is the Note 20 ultra better? Meh technically / on paper perhaps but i guarantee you the camera on both phones will as good as each other. I know theres no 12 pro max reviews out yet but i expect it to at least be a tad better then the regular pro which in my opinion is pretty close to the quality of the Note 20 Ultra. Video recording is also superior on apple devices. I also personally just prefer the way apple devices feel, i just find they are build better and feel better (personal preference) and i also feel the displays don't smudge / get finger prints as easily (i know they are produced by samsung but maybe apple then apply their own coating?)

I find that alot of the "features" Android phones have that deem them better then apple are gimmicky features for most people. On paper it sounds better but in reality the difference is negligible. Again its subjective but even the s pen is gimmicky in my opinion. I would say the majority of users will use it once or twice at best.

The only feature the Note 20 Ultra has that would make me jealous as an iphone user is the refresh rate. Thats it. I prefer the build of the iphone, how it feels. I prefer the flat display rather then curved as it drives me crazy with ghost touches etc As for the notch? Meh id rather it not be there of course but i honestly dont mind it and i love face id far more then touch id. The best battery life ive ever had on a device has also been an iphone (11 pro max) and i have also used Note 10 plus etc (probably a close 2nd to be fair)

Point iam trying to make is that its a shame we cant be humble enough to admit almost all flagship phones are great and its all about personal preference and what YOU prefer and if it costs a tiny bit more to get the device you want and you can afford it then why does anyone else care ??

Another issue with Samsung is the snapdragon v exynos issue. So many consumers see snapdragon units being reviewed and off they go and order the phone not knowing that the region they are in only sells exynos models and they end up with an inferior device. Not by much perhaps but inferior none the less.

What does any of this have to do with the thread topic?

You have a point about the discrepancies in chips, but there are users here who do enjoy or like the Exynos versions. But I definitely see what you are saying. It's nice to know what you are paying for!
