Ah found flaw.. No 3.5mm headset jack with microphone

Ah found disapointment. Integrated Microphone, headphone jack not available. Not separated for that matter bt I knew that before ordering. I guess I can use my bluetooth headset however I cant used my paypal/squareup card reader. :-(

In the app store it says their app is not compatible either.

My 3.5mm headset w/ Mic from my Galaxy Tab works with Skype. Just did a test call. Unless it picked up an internal mic without me knowing?

Pretty sure he is talking about his Nexus 7, but with a headset originally used with his Galaxy Tab.

He says "from my Galaxy Tab", meaning he took them from his Galaxy Tab.

Edit: Forgot to add that it's been confirmed that the headphone jack is not mic-capable.

Edit: Just tested it myself. I moved my N7 2 feet away and spoke softly into my in-line mic and it worked exactly as I spoke it.

Edit: Just tested it myself. I moved my N7 2 feet away and spoke softly into my in-line mic and it worked exactly as I spoke it.

The internal mic is actually quite sensitive and that's what picked up your voice. It's been confirmed that the Nexus 7 doesn't have the proper jack to support mic input.

Mic input requires a TRRS jack and the Nexus 7 only has a TRS jack.
