Hi all,

Hopefully this hasn't been covered.
I've noticed the stock android alarm will not turn the phone on and neither will Gentle Alarm.
Frustrating considering odd 3310's used to have this feature.

can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks

Matt

PS, nice forum! :D

Think about it. The phone is off, so no app can run. So the alarm app can't run. So it can't turn the phone on.

In order for an app to "turn the phone on", the phone has to be running - looking as if it's off, but not really off.

Not true. I just came from blackberry. I turned phone off every night and the alarm would turn phone on every morning.

unless things have changed from what I remember when you shut a blackberry off you are really putting it into a low power state, that is why you have to pull the battery to get a true reboot. I have not had a blackberry since the OG storm so things may have changed from what I remember

Agreed my cousins wife has the torch and it do sent do a full true shut down so that explains y just put it in airplane mode to kill all radios wifi and cell so it gets a nice full charge without the intrucive late nite call

INSPIRE AOKP ICE COLD SANDWICH ROM ;)

because, sometimes it make that annoying beeping fully-charged sound when I leave the phone on. And it cannot last through the day if I leave it on all night without charging.

I'm pretty sure you can turn off the fully charged beep. On my Droid 4, it's in Settings/Sounds. Uncheck the box that says Battery Full Notification.

Please Clarify what you mean by phone off...

turn screen off and "sleep" is normal and shouldn't interfere with alarm.

Turn phone off (so you go through boot to turn back on) is not normal unless you initiated it and should be investigated

Hold on a minute. Has everyone neuralyzed at Android? Every phone ever made pre- (so called) 'Smart phone' era had this ability STOCK.

I have "Lenovo Vibe P1". For two years, I turn it off completely during the nights and it turns on exactly on thre alarm time which I've set.
It is very good, because:
1. The life of the phone will be long;
2. The charge of battery doesn't reduce;
3. You are shure that hear no sound during the night;
4. There is no wave or radios from wifi and network.

I remember that many earlier cell-phones, before coming smart phones, have this ability.
