Alarm App: Timely -- no longer showing up when alarm rings...

i use an alarm app that i like a lot called Timely.

with this new phone S20 Ultra, the alarm will sound, but the screen that shows the alarm and the way to swipe it upwards to turn it off (or snooze it) will NOT show up when the alarm sounds. very inconvenient as i'll have to grab the phone, use my fingerprint to unlock the phone, then scramble to find the alarm icon, etc.

may i ask what setting it is that will allow the Timely app to show up despite having a black locked screen during the night please?

yes, after you mentioned it to me earlier today, i did.

the problem is: all possible "switches" are turned "on" already!

is there something else i'm missing please?

this is really an excellent alarm clock app - entirely flexible, easy to use, customizable.
the trouble is now that i'm using the new S20 Ultra, when the alarm sounds, i still get a locked screen, all black.

the only way to access the alarm is to unlock the phone, find the app's icon, open it, turn off the alarm.

whereas previously, as the alarm is sounding every morning, the phone's screen IS already the alarm's "hey, i'm ringing now" screen. all one has to do is to swipe upwards and turn off the alarm and be on one's way!

i can't believe that this version of Android or whatever Samsung software is built-in would "break" such a simple alarm app?!?

I have a Samsung S20 Plus and was having the same issue. I use Timely alot (current version 1.3.2). I found I had to turn on the "Always on Display" and select "Show always" found under Settings>Lock Screen>Always on Display

Welcome to the wonderful world of Android App notifications that don't work. I'm stuck with a ton of them myself over here. Luckily my Ring Alarm & Cameras are on point.

I thought the Timely app wasn't working with newer versions of android, and that they had no plans on updating it. I used to love it, but it stopped working on my s9 plus , when I updated the phone to android 10.

I went straight from an S7 to the S20 plus and seems to be working still. A message did pop up when installing stating the app was built for an older version Android and may not work properly. Still managed to sync my settings from the S7. Stopwatch and timer still working. I see the app developer hasn't updated it for a couple of years.

Same issue here. Works fine on note 10+, s20 ultra does not work on lock screen. Very annoying, my brother same issue.
