Alarm apps in place of an alarm clock radio

I heard a podcast the other day about alarms. Anyone use them? If so, which do you use? I just downloaded timely this weekend and started to play with it.

Also, do you stand a dock for your alarm or does it just sit on a table?

I use the default alarm clock on my HTC for regular alarms but I use the built in alarm function of Tunein Radio for a radio alarm. I just let it lay, a dock may have it's advantages but I'm not big on checking the time. When the alarm goes off I get up, if I get up before that I try not to know what time it is.
