I did search and I did not find any answer to my problem. I have been setting an alarm in the morning, but the alarm never goes off. I tried testing it, and the alarm does sound, but it never does in the morning. It should be noted that I have the phone charging in the morning. Could that have anything to do with it?

Changed your subject title for you. ;) Hope you get an answer quicker that way. I've never had that happen to me honestly, hopefully someone has a answer for you.

Jeremy, thanks for changing the title. I do have the sound turned all of the way up. Does anyone think that it may have anything to do with the phone sleeping, or being on the charger?

After a bit more investigation, I found that the alarm will not go off if it is on the charger, but it will go off if it is not. It does not sound like this is a wide spread problem, so do you think that I would get a replacement if I asked for one?

Have you check if the notification to make sure it will play. I have a protected Itunes song that would not play that was giving me problems.

I was having the same issue. I almost missed a my flight this morning because my alarms did not go off.
If you open alarm clock and from the screen that shows the clock and three alarms, click menu and go to settings. You have the ability to set the sound level for alarms overall. Mine was showing there would be no sound. I set it to full volume and after testing it now works (plugged in).
Not sure about the orig poster's alarm working not plugged in vs. plugged in. Mine would not sound off either way until I set the alarm volume. I do not think it has anything to do with the General Settings Notification volume level.

Now that I think about it, I have heard of this issue. Sadly, it was not on the list of things to get fixed in the latest update. Luckily mind doesn't do that...

I honestly have not had this problem till this morning (the night after I read this thread) I have two alarms set and nothing went off. Has anybody had any luck with any of the alarm apps on the market?

I think that this may be my problem. I am constantly killing everyting with advanced task killer. I definately will test this. My Windows Mobile past use is showing its ugly head.

When I first got the Droid, I was the same way. I was constantly trying to kill apps that I was not using. But I found that Android does a pretty damn good job of managing memory, and I haven't really found that killing apps makes a difference in performance. It's just as smooth as always.

I have been having this happen randomly, twice so far. Just happened last night. I work overnight and had my alarm set to wake me up, phone was NOT on the charger. It never went off. Luckily I have 2 alarms. When I reached over to turn off my first alarm I saw my phone's screen flashing with the second alarm but no sound.

I will have to double check the alarm settings but I wonder what's the problem?

P.S. - While I sleep I also put the phone in silent mode, but the alarm still goes off so I doubt it has anything to do with the ringer/sounds being silent.

I have the same issue with my Android - Motorola Droid X - but it only happens after the phone has been plugged in for an extended period of time (after it becomes fully charged). I don't believe its a sound problem because all of my settings are set so that alarms go off in silent mode.

This morning, my first alarm sounded after being plugged in for about 8 hours but DID NOT sound at 1030am (after 10+ hours)... this has happened multiple times before.

Anyway around this?
