Alarm still sounds when muted

Selecting sound mode Mute (in drop down settings) is supposed to kill all sound output but my alarms still sound. This is surely wrong - how can I fix it?

It is following the Do Not Disturb settings, which do allow alarms to go through. You should be able to change this in Settings>Sound>Do Not Disturb
