Albums in lanscape mode?

I have been messing around with my Droid 2. I have rooted it, but have not added any roms. I swear before I rooted it I could view my albums in landscape mode, and be able to swipe across them and make them move from one to another, with out the Slide?Out QWERTY Keyboard opened, am I crazy or does the keyboard need to be opened?

I'm not rooted but on mine in landscape all the albums are in rows and i cant slide them unless im in a certain album
