Alcatel Idol4 (?) - for a new owner, how can I unlock google account tied to the phone??

I am looking for a way to unlock a google login on a phone - alcatel Idol4 (I think). I purchased the phone from kijiji last year, and hadn't used it until now. Since then I have forgotten the passcode and so I did a factory reset, not realising it is still linked to the old google account. I don't know how to break it out of this so I can use it. I have done many searches on the internet how to accomplish this, but none of them seem to work. Any ideas?

You have to get the original owner to put in his password and remove the account.

Got it off Kijiji last year, don't know the owner, long gone now.

Perhaps the seller was not the owner. Even if it was, the phone was not fit for sale, because locked to an account and unusable.

Owner long gone and I don`t know the person. It was a kijiji sale from last year.

Take it to a carrier store and ask them whether they can check its status.

But without knowing the Google login and password, the phone is pretty useless.
