alert notification sound

I just got the galaxy s4. The notification sounds about every 10 minutes. I have checked email and it's on silent and have turned off notification alerts in facebook. Can't figure out how to stop this. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it your default notification tone, or a different one? You may have to check all of your apps to see if they have a notification setting. Yahoo Mail is a frequent culprit. If the tone is different than your default, it could be an NFC notification, which can go off if the phone is near something else with an NFC chip (like certain credit cards). You can turn NFC off in Settings>Wireless & Networks>More​.
