[ALL IN ONE] The HTC Thunderbolt Tool!

I'm trying to use this to root my TB, this would be my first root of any device. i want to use it for tethering, but i have followed all the steps and it just has the black box saying "updating....." Everything I'm reading says rooting is extremely easy, but it sure doesn't seem that way. Could someone please tell me what to try and what i might be doing wrong. Sorry for being a noob.

Hey! I've been able to get passed vista device manager myHTC driver not installed... Ridiculous that it took 6 downloads, 6 installs, fails, uninstall and restarting. Stuck at Updating, Saturday should bring something New.

Is the revolutionary.io dropbox account the same as the one the tool uses - that is if I use revolutionary.exe and revolutionary-0.4pre4.zip to get s-off - will it fail too right now until Saturday ??

trter I used the beta from XDA and it worked perfectly, you have some great information over there about 4eXT as well. Thank you very much Sir. Nice to have my bolt back to somewhat normal. Now to get flashing again. God Bless you my man.

Fine work here. I used the beta tool to root a friends tbolt for him. Nice and smooth, and the pop up windows would be very beneficial to someone new to rooting this phone. I did mine last year and even though it was easy. This tool is just great.. I did have one issue even though the SU was supposedly flashed by revo it was not in the app drawer. I had to flash superuser in recovery again to get it to stick.

Need help though I am new to rooting, I used this file (trter10-Thunderbolt-Tool-9717832), everything seemed to work and show that I was rooted but now my phone does not seem to be rooted I must have missed a step!

Hey monstercat, one me question it seems anytime i try to run wifi teather or [redacted], it takes forever now, and i have force close! it did that after I rebooted for some reason.

for example root checker basic 5.0, when i click verify root access, it say please wait for root check to complete. system appears to be running very slow.. never finshes
