You know the only way to fix this is using a custom rom.

I'm reading this to see all the bugs. I haven't updated my phone. I still have the MJ5 version. Everything is working fine no need to update until later.

After you update are you changing your name to KitKatGurl?
Darn... If I update I would have to change my username.![]()
KitKatgurl doesn't sound too bad, though!

Seems to be a lot of confusion over external sd cards with kitkat, stock file manager, all functions supported, ES file manager, good, I have not tried transfers over wifi so can't comment on that...... but, all is not perfect, kitkat has definitely changed external SD card support for at least some third party apps, I use camera fv5, and it can no longer save directly to external storage, l can move the pictures after the fact, but not save directly. Stock camera still works fine.

Updated my Note 3 on Sprint. The only bug for me and MAJOR bug at that is that my Rdio Songs no longer download to my external SD card. I'd imagine its because its one of the apps that don't have permission yet to download to the external card. The fact that this is the MAIN reason why i bought a Note 3 (big screen + memory card FOR my music) really bugs me. Does anyone know if its a workable issue? or is root needed (I haven't rooted a phone since my S3 and would rather leave it stock).
I just hope that Verizon doesn't shove this update down our throats.....

I screwed up big time by updating to Kitkat. The dreaded Android bugs are back. The reason I was staying with iPhone for last 4 years.
Wifi keeps dropping. Screen freezes for couple of mins and then I am forced to restart the phone. And NIL benefits from the update.
With this is mind.
What's the best way to insure that the update doesn't get automatically installed?
I have turned off automatic updates and have stopped the Software App in the Application Manager.
Is there any other ways?

Kit Kat has definitely made phone snappier and doesn't use battery up as fast. Don't know that I care for the all white status bar icons either. One thing that has happened to me, and I haven't seen anyone else reporting it, is that my email is not updating. Gmail is fine, it is just the regular email app. Last synch it did was shortly before I got kit kat update on Friday morning. I've looked at every setting possible and even turned synch off and back on to no avail. I'm stumped, so if anyone has any clues, please feel free to chime in.
I was trying to avoid going that route as i have some emails that are only on my phone as i deleted them off of the main account. i am going to try adding one of my other email accounts and if that works then i'll know i have to remove the problem email account and add it back. I'll just have to suck it up and lose the emails i didn't want to lose.
