Welcome to Android Central! Photos saved to the phone storage shouldn't be affected by system update, unless there was a bug with the update (which would be the fault of your phone manufacturer, not Google). Or, if the photos were saved to an SD card, the card might have become corrupt or failed, which is fairly common, since SD cards are not very reliable by nature -- you shouldn't rely on SD cards as the sole storage for important data.

Using a file manager app, look directly in the /DCIM/Camera directory. Are the photo files there?

exactly the same date on 27 December morning, almost 1000 new travel photos gone from my internal drive camera gallery which is my default saving storage.
Samsung S8 plus.

Please help...i saved whole year to travel to sahara and all photos took on 26 December gone.

Look in Google Photos and see if they're there. They get backed up by default.

It's really not a good idea to rely on your phone as the only place you store important data, including photos. Make sure it's backed up or synced somewhere on a regular basis. There are a lot of options, although I always recommend Google Photos.
