all sound going through earpiece

I have a stock AT&T version running 4.4 I'm having an issue where all sound on the Moto x is being routed to the earpiece of the phone instead of the speaker. This includes music, videos, ringtones, notifications, and game sounds. This also occurs even if I use Bluetooth. This started 3 days ago when my phone ran out of battery and died. Any suggestions as to why this happened?

I forgot to add that I tried a reboot and it helps for a while then it starts over again, even if the phone is not being used
