Question "Allow background usage" options keeps on resetting

I've been trying to switch my apps' battery usage to unrestricted but it immediately gets reset to "optimized" as soon as I leave. How do I fix this?

I heard that this helps in solving this issue where my apps quickly restart after I leave and re-open it. I'd be glad if there's any other way to fix this.

If you use power save mode or adaptive this can reset those settings

Welcome Android Central forums. It may depend on which device you have but you also need a certain amount of RAM for this as well. I won't throw out numbers because they would be made up but it could be lack of RAM that is causing this issue for you. And if your device knows it doesn't have the RAM to keep apps open in the background it may be auto adjusting these settings because they are unsustainable.

I was going to suggest that you add the apps you want to stay open to your "never sleeping" list which prevents apps from sleeping and keeps them awake when in the background. If you want to look at this setting, it is typically in the same place as your battery settings and the options to "put apps to sleep". On Samsung this is in Device Care.
