Was about to bite on the VZW 32 GB blue but the grandfathered unlimited data plan is not even an option unlike Verizon's site. :(

They have a good price with a $25 rebate, bonus pack that includes two leather pouches and 3 in 1 charger. Plus a Bluetooth headset included.

Can anyone confirm if we can get the unlimited data option with Costco?

Only people that can confirm it are:
1. Someone that works at Costco's wireless kiosk/dept, and/or
2. Someone at VZW

Even then, until it happens, it's still a crap shoot.

I didn't think they ever had the option on their site, even when it wasn't a pre order. I could be wrong though.

Perhaps you ought to contact Membership Wireless:

•To contact us by E-Mail: onlinesupport@wirelessadvocates.com

IIRC, my brother had to call and tell them after he placed the order that he wanted to keep his current plan when he bought a Razr.

Just saw that they added the Verizon version as an option but they're charging $50 more than Verizon. ($299 for the 32GB)
I would spend the time to call them up to confirm the data plan but at the higher cost I'll pass.

I have been down this road before with Costco and Verizon (I think for the Bionic since it came with a HUGE bundle for LESS money). While they don't offer the unlimited data plan up front, when you activate your phone, you just need to call Verizon and ask them to put you back on the unlimited plan (within a few hours of activation) and they do and everything works out fine. That's how it is with BB also. I would not use the lack of unlimited data plan on their preorder website as a reason to pass on the phone.

Now the INCREASE in price is a completely different matter! Probably a typo. Usually they bundle some fun stuff and sell for LESS.

I had the same experience buying my HTC Rezound from Costco. I just called Verizon to activate it and keep my unlimited data. I was so worried about it before buying that I must have called VZW and Wireless Advocates (Costco) 5 times.

Honestly....I have purchased a phone from those Authorized Vendors at Costco and I can tell you from experience, their "bundles" are complete garbage. I returned my phone only 2 days after purchase. But that was just me and I had a bad experience from them and wouldn't recommended anyone buying from them. But if you are looking to save money and you like their offer go for it.

That is usually the case but I just called that company...they are NOT planning to price match Verizon because they include their accessory pack which "is a better deal than what Verizon offers."
I told them that all depends on the buyer. I have most of the accessories they are charging you for and don't really care about the other items.

I asked when they expect to have them in stock and her response was, "Verizon is indicating July 12th."

Wow! That's late!!!

It depends on what they give you with the bundle. The Bionic bundle included an additional OEM battery and a Motorola desk charger that made the phone stand up so I could use it as an alarm clock. That was awesome and was all free (actually less than the VZW price at the time). I agree that the screen protectors and free holsters and other nonbranded stuff is usually junk but that's not always what is included...

Their typical accessory package includes a 3-in-1 charger, two leather cases and one or two screen protectors. On the phone, they verified that it also includes a Bluetooth headset but didn't say which brand/model.
Just noticed that they offer an additional $25 mail in rebate.
So, it's technically $25 more, after a rebate, and you get a Bluetooth headset.

I'm going to stick to my Verizon pre-order.

Does anyone know if they can push the upgrade date up on Verizon? I went last Saturday to costco and the guy at the booth told me they can only do it 7 days before the upgrade date?

I tried to do that 2 years ago on Verizon and they wouldn't even push it up ONE day. And I was standing in the store when I asked!

I just got off the phone with wireless advocates they told me they can move up the upgrade 7 days out. I can pre order the GS3, but can't keep unlimited data :( I can order a phone then swap it for a GS3 under the 90 days return and keep unlimited data .
