Alternative browsers?

I use a number of different browsers. The only one that allows me to post on forums is Maxthon Mobile Browser. It's pretty speedy and it loads websites that Opera loads slow faster.

Xscope pro and Firefox beta 9 ftw.

Sent from my rooted, Dark Horse(hopefully soon) INFECTED Eternity bolt running Ziggys latest.

I gave boat a try for a couple days. Liked it a first then it stoped loading pages and just took to long. Giving Opra a try now. Seems to be working better already.

Currently using Dolphin, but you might want to look at Miren too. I've used that in the past.

I tried Opera several years ago on my BB Storm and didn't care for it, but perhaps I'll have to give in another try.

Yeah Opra on my BB sucked. On android its a lot better.

I have been trying Opera and Opera mini for a couple days now. The only problem I have is it seems like I have to hit the back button several times to get out of the app or it will run on the back ground. With Dolphin or even Boat all I need to do is go to menu and there is a exit tab. Makes a difference to me.

Not sure about Opera Mini, but in Opera Mobile you have the option of showing an exit button in the menu. As I recall it's under advanced settings.

I love this option because I can go back to doing something else without having to worry about loosing my place on researching some information, when I am using other browsers and I receive a call or a email, when I open up the other apps to respond the browser closes the information I was on and I have to use history to co back. With Opera Mobile I can finish what I was doing and go back to what I was doing without missing a beat..

I have been using Boat browser for a while and I like it a lot. Dolhpin and the native browsers are my second choices. Boat is lightweight and fast.

Opera is nice but it is too "mini" or "mobile" for my liking. But I do use Opera Mini when I need to read something in a complex font (like my native Nepali characters) as none other browsers render these fonts.

Wow...gonna have to check this out. Never even considered using an alternative. I hit the native internet app which leads to the Google search page and away I go. Many times I just use the search app on the phone...tap it, tell it what I want, off we go. Maybe someone can turn this thread into a poll?

I am interested in trying Opera (now use Dolphin). There seem to be several versions of Opera - Opera Mini, Opera Mobile, Yandex Opera Mini, Yandex Opera Mobile and Verizon Opera Mini (I have Verizon Service with unlimited data plan). Can anyone explain the differences and which is the best to try for my Thunderbolt?

I liked opera mini back before the touch screen smart phones. I had the helix ocean and the stock browser sucked but opera mini was great on it. Loaded things faster in 3g, about 5 times faster. And my Nokia 6220 was able to get it for that one too and same thing. Even on the Nokia n97 I chose to use the opera mini cus it worked great for it. Only if u have a track ball or directional key pad, is when opera mini really shines. But xscope and dolphin are great.

I tried them all except boat which I hadnt heard of and have settled on Opera Mobile. It allows multiple tabs, and the ability to close those tabs, etc. Its fast generally and seems to resolve most of the pages well.

+1 for me... I still say I haven't had any browsers that move smooth as Opera Mobile...

I had it on my Windows device when it was first released and really missed it when I first switched to Android but as soon as the Android build was release I had to have it...

Plus I love the option to sync my bookmarks to my Opera Link account so if I change devices my bookmarks are with. me, just a login away..

Can't go wrong with Opera Mobile in my book..

I liked Opera until I found out that it wouldn't let me post on message boards after articles. I've been using Maxthon after discovering that it's the only browser that I know of that allows it. Also, all of the pages that Opera struggles with, Maxthon handles flawlessly.
