alternative phone number or email address for support ?

Hello

I bought a Nexus 7, 16 GB 2 months ago in the US. I am now living in Argentina for a few months and a few days ago when I turned on the tablet the screen showed only stripes, which responded to my touch but never stopped being stripes. I let the battery run out so it would restart on charging it up again and it remained the same. I have looked around forums etc and this seems to be the type of malfunction where one would send the tablet back and get a new one.

Now, on all the google support webpages, I cannot at all find any other phone number except 855-83-NEXUS (and Its does not work calling that number from abroad) or ANY email I could use to contact a support helpdesk. I am fully prepared to send the tablet back to the states for repair or replacement or to any closer service center, but am unable to reach anybody that could tell me how to proceed.. I will be very grateful for any help!

Asus makes the Nexus 7 for Google. Depending on where you bought it and their return policy, there is a pretty good chance you would have to send it to Asus anyway - even if you were still in the states. Here is the phone number for contacting Asus directly: 877-339-2787.
