could someone help me to get it back please Regards John

Hey John, welcome to the forums!
You can set up the always on display to show whatever. Settings... Display... Always on display... Layouts....

As Tim said - Settings... Display... Always on display... Layouts....and make sure Show notifications is ON. That's how mine is so hope it works for you. Also, I have all updates.

Hello Johnlng
I have done what you said and still the same. will have to live with it
It was nice to see the emails on the always on display and missed calls.
When i first had the phone it was on there

Thanks for replies John

Have you tried clearing the cache on the app itself? Goto setting... App manager... AOD... Storage and clear cache there as well as data. If that don't work, try to uninstall and install again, or clear the cache on the phone... This might help

@johnHen..try these tweaks and tricks
1) After unlock the phone >>Screen fingers sweep from
Top to Bottom it'll display the icons control-Panel

Locate the AoD=AlwaysOnDisplay icon >>Tap it twice
'N make sure is On when do the last Tap & Hit
the Home button to exit..then Restart phone

2) Goto settings >Tap--Notifications >Find the Gmail icon and
ensure > is switched On..next same screen on Top right
Tap [Advanced] Lookup for Gmail icon >If it shows
Allowed under the icon it has the correct setting..

next Tap Gmail to view a list of options and verify that,.
[•]Allow-Notifications is On-But switch off/On again

Also ensure that [•]Preview in Popups is On-But switch off/On
again & return to HomeScreen >>Restart phone: If all these
settings are oK should work: report Results if Not lucky
we'll try to "Restore settings" to default level

hello Sam_Gs7
thanks for you reply. I have tried all you say ,but still not e-mail notifications or missed call icons

thanks John

Thx for reply, well try now the "Reset settings" this way..Open
settings >Back up and reset >Restore >Reset settings and
>>Tap [RESET SETTINGS] report results..readYou soon

Oops! No doubt this ACapp is becoming totally
BUGGY: I replied to this thread twice the [Submit reply]
didn't work, so I typed again and is shown triple answer now

Hope one of those called Mod's delete the two middle
replies..Is really a Pita this app ultimately..The search feature
was broken in Dec-04-2012: Reported and works now

But to answer this thread the [Go advanced] and
[Submit reply] buttons disappeared at time: Fix this YA!

hello Sam_Gs7

Another thought. Have you recently added a new email account in your phone? Go to your security settings and see what's listed under device administrators.

All I have in Device Administrators is

Android device manager ( Ticked)
Vodafone protect ( Unticked )

Regards John

I still want to know how people are getting Gmail notifications on the AOD on an S7. I only get notifications from Samsung apps, so only messages and the dialer. Nothing from Gmail or Hangouts. I hear the new Nougat update will fix that, but a lot of people mention that it works for them already.

I don't think AOD shows anything except sms and missed calls. It used to show everything on my Note 7. The last I read this will come with Nougat. Perhaps those getting this functionality are on the Beta Program?
