Always on display

For some reason my AOD is not working. The AOD in settings is shaded and I can't change it back to on. I just noticed it tonight. What caused this and how can I turn it back on?

Do you have battery saving mode on?
I believe that disables it...

Yes, that was the problem. Some how it was turned on. But all is well now.

Happened to me too. Thought something was wrong with the front sensor.
