Always on note modify?

I make myself Todo lists on my always on display at work and it would be perfect if I could scratch off or add items to my list. Is there no way to modify the note that's pinned to the always on display?

I figured this out the other day. While it’s on the AOD, double tap it. This should allow you to edit it. Hope this helps.
