step by step...

i i have my phone connected to the pc and in download mode...
i open odin and try to start the .tar file upload.
appears to be working, but in the far left side of the odin window, it says "setup connection" and freezes there...


phone is rooted successfully with the z4mod...


sidenote... i still cant transfer files from pc to phone... i think there is an issue with the drivers ihave installed...

did you do the all in one recovery?

if you are haveing driver issues you are going to have problems. you need to get that driver issus fixed. i wouldnt mess with anything else until you do. also, some people are not having trouble with the all in one method, some are, we dont know why. i would hold off on it until we figure out what is going on.

Guys , do me a favor, put your phone into Debugging mode, plug in your phone, then at the bottom of the screen a popup will come up saying drivers not installed, click on the box for details, when you click on this a list will pop up and tell you what you are missing

Edit: I just tried this set of drivers for my sisters fascinate since my computer wasnt recognizing her phone for some reason

Ok so i was able to replicate the problem, i used my sisters phone to flash DI01.... then by accident i decided to flash superdark, but forgot it was DJ05 based, so after it was flashed i decided to flash the modem. and bam no USB support So i have officially knocked out the 64bit theory and the full package theory..... So it looks like flashing DJ05 modem individually can cause this problem in some fascinates...ill spend the night looking for a solution

Edit: ok i got the phone USB working again,,,While connected in USB debugging. download and install.

Wait about approx 5 minutes while the drivers configure themselves after installed. thats how long it took for me ,
I dont know if this will work for you , but it worked for my sisters fascinate after completely not recognizing the phone at all

ok, i have the phone rooted and i have flashed with cwm to d101. now the marketplace opens but hangs up in download.... it says starting download and stays there. also i still cant get my pc sync with the phone. i really appreciate everyones help, but i give up. this phone has been a nightmare. i am going to sell it as is on ebay.

so my question now is how to i get it back to stock from here. i see in z4 it says un-root. so i clicked that. and factory data reset the phone. but it still is in the d101 mod... ? please give me step by step instructions on how to get it to stock, just like out of the box. thanks!!!

There are several threads that do just that, just do a search. I would not bother. Do the build your own from Tom manager. You will be installing an entirely new ron. Its like out of the box but with less suck. Don't forget to flash dj05 modem, way better than di01. Also don't forget data wipe and format cache.

ok, i am determined to fix this thing, even though i wanna throw it out the window while i am driving on the highway.

someone in xda-dev thinks it is asscoiated with google talk. which btw doesnt work either. i go to open it and it closes immediatly. but it does the same thing no matter what account i sign into google with. anymore thoughts on how to fix it? only thing i know of is to reroot and flash a different mod and kernel

dude, you can spend the rest of your life trying to fix some problems. just not worth it. just flash a new rom. you dont need to reroot. the new rom will already be rooted. start with super clean or the build you own in rom manager. make sure you do a data wipe and cache format. its kinda like formating your hd and reinstalling windows. you will starting all over, everthing will be newly installed. dont for get to flash the proper modem. doing this will save much time and headache.

i do have a job, i work on the development team that produces phosphorescent OLED technology,, that screen you have in your hand has the materials my team developed. just happens that i work 3pm to midnight, but tonight i worked till around 5am
