Amazon APPSTORE Free app of the day.

In case you weren't aware, these "free" apps expire after some time.

After they expire, when you try to use them, instead of the app launching you get a message saying the app has expired.

Also, if you remove the Amazon App Store you get a message saying "it looks like you uninstalled the Amazon App Store" instead of the app launching.

I have yet to have any app expire.

Maybe you downloaded a trial app instead of the official app.
And the app of the day is only available from 3am cst to 259am cst. Everyday at 3 am cst a new app is made the free app.

I don't think they expire. I believe you MUST have the Appstore installed to use any of Amazon apps for DRM.

If an app is purchased from the Amazon Appstore that uses Amazon DRM, then the Amazon Appstore must be installed for the app to run.
If an app is purchased from the Amazon Appstore that does NOT use Amazon DRM, then the Amazon Appstore does not need to be installed to use the app.

Do I have to use Amazon DRM if I sell my app through Amazon.com?

No, it is not required. When you submit your app you can choose to offer your app DRM free or you can apply Amazon DRM.
...
Any app that has Amazon DRM applied to it will require users to have installed and signed-in to the Amazon Appstore client to access the app.
