Amazon Preorders....

If there's somewhere to buy the phone and guarantee stock/shipping I'm definitely canceling the amazon order. Only people getting them are sprint and BB pre-orders at the moment.

Is it crazy to think that since we pre-ordered the phone then we shouldn't have to wait until july 5th? That's a good 5 weeks after competing pre-orders were RECEIVED....

I don't want to email and talk too much to them. Fear they will drop me to dead last on pre-order list. I also don't want to cancel the order, because as soon as I do they will start shipping out.

What to do, what to do.......

So I reached out to Sprint to see if they knew anything about Amazon pre-orders... Here's part of the convo:

Lori U.: Our warehouse is processing pre-orders and delivery is expected by 5/24.
You: Its 05/25....
*silence for 5 mins* Wtf
 
LOL... I really wish I was busier at work right now. I have nothing better to do than dwell on how annoyed I am about this whole process.
 
I just registered on this forum just to give you guys the piece of info I got 10 mins ago from a CS at Amazon.

Their official delivery date as of this moment is in fact the first week of June. He speculated that because of the small volume of pre-orders at Amazon they had not ordered a large amounts of units up front and that's why amazon was left to wait for a second shipment. He had no other information about when the phones might get to them except that Amazon was waiting on shipment. And then came the robotic answer "as soon as we get them we will ship them out to you"

I didn't want to believe it but it seems as if a week from now is the actual delivery date.

I have a feeling that phones will be shipped out when Sprint announces the day that they will have them in stores

So let's see we have no real info whatsoever, while Sprint preorders are already getting notice of a second package containing a free gel case. If that aint salt inthe wound , Idon't know what is. And so the fun continues...
 
So I noticed that the email I sent got a response , same no new info rabble with free upgrade to one day shipping . I decided to give a quick update call , I'm having fun with my daily update call . I was given the same ol same " We know nothin" in there best Sgt Schultz impersonation...But they did offer a $15 Amazon credit for my patience !! Who knows what's in store between now and that July 5th date....

I'm sure you have had complaints about the delay in shipping the HTC EVO LTE. I'm kind of rolling the dice and hoping for any news whatsoever. A supposed Sprint insider has said that all 3 rd party pre-orders for the device have been sent out to their distributors. Best buy and Sprint have already gotten their pre-orders to their customers. Seems to me that the logistic juggernaut Amazon should have some word on where these orders stand.

I don't understand why amazon is leaving its customers out in the cold about this. I don't really care if it's tomorrow or 2 weeks from now, a lot of us wish that they just knew when to expect it.

You could probably agree that planning to be home all afternoon on a certain day is a lot harder than checking a UPS tracking number to see where the items are and give an estimate as to what day that will be.

I don't know where the issue lies and may never know. Whether it's HTC, Sprint, customs, usps, or UPS I'm not sure, but the end result is Amazon Wireless may lose a fair bit of business from not communicating to its customers.

I understand it isn't the customer service reps fault for not knowing, it's higher in the line. So please don't take it personally.

I take this as a bad omen. I've tried **skissing emails, neutral, mean, threatening, they all have been the same the past 3 days. "your delivery date is scheduled for July 5th, best regards!". What a crock of Apple skeet are they doing?

Heard an update from Amazon. Pirahnnas are out in abundance today. All fisherman and boaters proceed with caution. As for the EVO LTE they have no clue what dat do. Official quote "es no aqui".

Geez, thanks for the free car charger guys. Must take weeks for u to ship it up river in canoes!

Mine is too. I wonder if they really don't have the chargers in or they are just waiting to ship it together? I asked them if they could stop sending me the approve order email for the stupid charger and they said no, its auto-generated. One of the customer service agents made it so the phone and charger would ship together since I told her I don't need the charger a month and some change in advance of my phone. Since then the ship date has changed and whatever options she toyed with are now non-existent.

Is it just me or have the Amazon people responding to you guys getting dumber and dumber? The first couple people who contacted me were awesome. Not as awesome as I'm gonna fly u the phone first class right now, but as awesome as they could be.

I'm about to just tell them cancel the stupid car charger for now. If they send it to me first I'm going to find their office and strangle them with the stupid thing until they make my phone appear. It's really gotten personal with me now. Amazon til the end! They are like the special needs lil brother I never had!:)

I pre-ordered on 5/11 as soon as I saw they were taking pre-orders for $149.99. I think that maybe someone pushed your charger back with the phone like I mentioned the one good customer service rep did with me. Somehow it got reset and the charger went from July 5th to whatever the day of May it was at the time.

I remember thinking: those Sprint people pre-ordering are lame-ohs. They may get it a day or 2 earlier than me, but I will be $50 richer. How naive and dumb I was way back then. Those days before the EVO LTE, living like Barney Rubble. Ahhh, ignorance is bliss.
 
I guess I need some help with my approach.

I'd get em back on the phone, get them to apologize for the inconvenience, ask them if they have heard anything, when they say no sorry just accept their empathy and tell them you'd assume they'll overnight it to make up your inconvenience. At that point they have to think of a reason to say NOT TO comp you instead of a reason TO comp you.

Or just hope you get a nice rep, lol.

Yep, I'm so annoyed with this whole situation.

I went ahead and pre ordered at best buy as a backup... I figured the worst that could happen is that amazon actually ships my phone and I cancel my best buy order. I just wish I would have done it last Friday :-(

I may do the same. Did best buy charge your card? Only thing that may mess me up is them going out at once and my account overdrafting from rent check and 2 phones.

Great idea though. Have been trying to think of a failsafe the past 2 days. Think u have the best strategy to play. Two thumbs up my friend!
