Hi

I have a Samsung S8. The Amazon Prime Video app initially worked and at some point stopped (post update?). Amazon don't seem to be able to help. The app still works on my old Samsung S7 that I still have (no problem with my account or wifi).

The app just gets stuck on a black screen with the rotating orange circle.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled/deleted cache/data etc numerous times.....

I have downloaded it both from the Galaxy app store and through Amazon Underground (and uninstalled/reinstalled AU).

However, it did work when I was in another country (!?!) which is very odd. I shared this with Amazon but no answers yet.

I have tried numerous other people's wifis, mobile data and the process described in another forum of turning off wifi/4g before opening then turning back on, but it won't load.

Anyone else have this issue or any solutions they have tried?

I'm having the same issue with Amazon video, you tube and netflix. Hope something gets sorted. Some other forums suggest it is an Samsung update software. I messaged them and no response over 2 days, even when there is a 2 hour response time. Useless!!!!

Hope someone can help fix this issue.

I just tried Prime Video and it loaded and played fine. I read somewhere that AU was being replaced with the new shopping app. Maybe try uninstalling it and re-download via the new app. Other than that, I don't know.

Samsung came back to me today. Just done a soft reset and my you tube and amazon prime now working. Soft reset by holding volume down and power button until it reloads. My netflix is still not working but looks as though a server issue from netflix end

FIXED IT!!!!!

Logged into Amazon website using Firefox. Navigated to prime video. Attempted to watch a video. Second login required in Firefox. Credentials authentication now unstuck. Prime Video app now works.

I'm guessing somebody is sharing some code between the app and the web software.

Hey All,

The Solution was far simpler than I ever expected.
I too struggled like you guys and got frustrated looking for a solution on all different forums. But finally tried something on my own and ...Kaboom ... Ir worked.

Just go to Device maintenance in Samsungs of the world ... Optimize your phone ... Clear memory .... Go to Settings ... Apps... Click Force Stop on any of these apps .... Let it computer the memory and storage used... The. Clear cache... Get Out. Restart the phone. Wait for exactly 3 mins and 46 seconds ... And start the app... It may ask you to register again.so do it... And there you are !!!
PS:( waiting part is an exaggeration ;P )

Cheers !!

Amazon Prime Video is trouble on my Samsung Smart TV.

I never use the phone app. Twice in last month I had to remove devices, then register my tv again.
