Amount of Users That Hack Their Phones

A super newbie question... *dock*

If I rooted my phone and have wifi tether once Sprint/Samsung comes out with OTA official Froyo... will I have to re-root and reinstall the wifi tethering? I'm in stock 2.1 still.. just rooted for the wifi tethering. Thanks for not laughing (too hard).

I see no reason not to root an Android phone. There are some good utility apps, root explorer and cachemate to name a few, that make life so much easier

Nine times out of ten your root will stay intact. That bring said I am not sure on the tether hack
