Oh, good citizens of AC, now I get to replace my Nexus. Yesterday, on my way to work, I didn't realize that my lunchbox toppled onto my GNex, and that my water leaked all neatly inside the back hatch. While it functionss alright, the earpiece speaker and the mic are damaged. Thankfully I insured it, but it sucks nonetheless. Seems I have bad luck with this phone.

I guess that takes care of that crack that it got the you dropped it! :)

Now, will you take care of you new one?! LOL

I'm on device #3 due to various complete failures. Technically, I could have been on #4 but found a solution that let me keep #3 and return #4.

Oh, the things I do for love (of the g-nex).

LOL, dude, yeah. And there were scratches I got from who knows. The replacement looks new, and it looks better than the one I bought (which had some anomalies on the molding). I finally had to make a claim since the earpiece actually died. Off to get a serious glove for the new one. Maybe the new one won't have screen banding either.

Activated and set. The girl for Verizon was like, "Did you try rice? You could probably sell that for serious cash on eBay." I was like, dude, I gotta send it back else I'll get charged $350, and that's after paying for the first one plus the $99 to replace the dog-on thing. I mentioned that I might be able to get cash for it if it spontaneously started working. Then she backed off and said, "I probably shouldn't have said that" and she was trying to back herself out of a corner she thought she was in. I had a good chuckle as she said, "Yeah, you need to send it back." I wanted to tell her it's cool to be real and not to worry, Imma send it back.

Results? The new one is even better than the old. The banding isn't as bad and no dark spot on the screen like my original, which bugged the hell out of me. Then I chipped it and couldn't return it. Planned on keeping it, since I could upgrade the line again in September (dummy line trick), but managed to inadvertently subject it to pouring water in my front seat. For $99 bucks (and $7x12), not too bad.
