Pixel 2, February update, Google Messages, little picture/camera app is next to the + - it opens a small camera screen and a small Gallery screen next to it. So it's not the update itself, or Google Messages, maybe something peculiar to the 4XL. If safe mode doesn't do it, send feedback.

unfortunately, it looks like you might have to REFORMAT and RESTORE your Operating System/phone. ugh.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that you applied this OS update on top of your current OS without any preparation...

9 out of 10 times this works satisfactorily but this is the one case I recommend you restore your phone to factory settings.

Okay, it seems to happen with SwiftKey. With GBoard, it stays stable. If you I do the quick select with the GBoard, it gets right, instantly.

Also, if I don't resize SwiftKey, it stays right.

interesting..I actually use swiftkey beta and dont have this problem...
once again, I think you just updated on top of your current operating system with no preface and this has exasperated a problem that was brewing.. Either way, I'm glad you found a "work around" to a problem no one else is experiencing.
