Hmm, I don't see that update. Do you have a Pixel phone? I thought it was sort of baked in for Pixels.

Yeah it is baked in and that's why we get the updates from time to time. I've never used pixel buds but occasionally perhaps rarely I do get an update for them.

Haha, that's what I get for dissing the dots. Now my regular icons don't get the dots either.

Okay, I'm just going to shut up about the dots now. They are back! I don't know what's going on, no matter. Betas are fun!

Aren't they? Assistant just announced an incoming text while listening to YouTube Music. I tapped, and it read the message to me. What the?

Regarding the notification dots is everyone getting them when using non themed icons? I opted for the regular icons in order to get the notification dots.

Not using themed icons here and no dots. They returned briefly after a restart but did not last for long.

I tried both ways, and it appears the dots are present both themed and non-themed. Is this what you're referring to?

Correct, those are the notification dots we are talking about. They worked fine for me on Android 11. In 12 beta they stopped appearing, whether using themed icons or regular icons. If I clear Launcher cache and force stop Launcher, notification dots work again for a short time using either icon style (themed or regular) but then eventually stop working again until I force stop Launcher. It's a bug affecting some but not all apparently.

If I'm listening to something and I switch to maps, media volume goes down to 50%. This has been the case in every Android 12 beta release. Will this ever get fixed?

I've noticed better battery usage on my Pixel 4a.

Yep yep, I had already spent it on a reddit subform for Android beta; beta for my battery life went back up. Performance too! My battery is now a beast again! I didn't even think it was that horrible in beta1 through 3.1 honestly!

My battery had gone down significantly in the last patch. But after resetting android webview and rebooting it has certainly improved again.

I didn't even realize that my battery went down. I do notice a nice battery improvement though in beta 4 so far. That's a nice thing as long with performance too.
