If my memory serves me correctly when the beta program ends and closes the public release will automatically be updated on the phone. It will not wipe the phone when it does. Maybe you have to leave the beta program but I don't recall having to do that to get the public release.

True, to get off of beta it was that simple. I remember that some of us last year had to go into some Google page and unenroll from something so we could start receiving monthly security updates when Android 11 beta ended. Hopefully it won't be like that this year, but there was something strange last year, that one extra step that some of us had to do when beta ended. I'll try to find that thread so we have it for this Fall in case the same issue occurs where some of us can't get regular monthly security patches when 12 beta is over and we switch over to the normal build.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here use bedtime mode at all? View attachment 334741
Yes, I've been using bedtime mode since it was released. I love how my phone goes silent and screen goes black and white (my settings at least).

On a side note, someone was talking about bubbles in chat. I never use bubbles in chat so I didn't pay attention to that conversation. However, I realized I use bubbles for FB messenger and it hasn't been working on my pixel 5. I booted up my 3xl that had the beta on it and the FB chat bubbles were working on there. Wonder why the discrepancy between phones.

Bedtime mode is interesting, cool care The only problem is that my starred contacts messages don't come through in bedtime mode. If I disable bedtime mode in regular do not disturb mode at night time. Then those messages come in that's why I was asking lol.

Hmm, I haven't had any messages from starred contacts during bedtime mode since starting the beta but they had come through in previous 11 os.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. With bedtime mode, and do not disturb mode enabled, starred contacts messages do not come through. If I turn bed time mode off, but leave do not disturb mode enable, then those messages from my starred contacts come through. It's just a question I was wondering about hahaha.

Well aren't you the Devil in Disguise lol. Catch me at my moment of weakness, and offer up the primrose path to destruction in a simple little link..... I was so close to opting in  :p ;)

I think my fate is inescapable lol.

So, just out of curiosity, does anyone in gesture settings menu use the one-handed mode at all?

I've tried it a few times. Meh.

Hahaha, meh? I've been trying to have for the past few weeks, and it's okay. The problem is that not all of the UI elements are miniaturized. Meaning if you swipe down to one hand your screen, you have to quickly swipe up just to see the bottom portion of the screen if that makes sense. That's why I'm asking about it...

I think what you experience is the very reason I was ambivalent about it.
I do like the one hand keyboard settings. I use that off and on. My phone case is pretty thick though so one hand typing isn't always one handed.

Yeah, I hear you! I mean the Pixel 5 with a 6-in screen is small, thing, light enough as it is with one hand... So it's not a big deal. Of course we all like playing with the new beta features. And it's a really nice concept. However, with not all the UI elements being one-handed, it makes a really weird to use it if that makes sense.

I agree. The Pixel 4a without a case feels like it will fly out of my hand like a watermelon seed.

Had my first random reboot just a bit ago. In the middle of using an app and full on restart.

Good luck. I'm sure it was just nothing. You know what I just started to realize today, is that when I fix my pixel buds Google Assistant via the Google app beta version of my Play Store, it looks like once again, that's been It's raining much more so of my battery per charge and I realize it was doing. I just uninstalled the beta version that Google app and I'm retesting against Android 12 beta 2 for battery life. The Google Assistant on my pixel buds is still working thankfully! I remember when I updated to beta 2, my battery life was great, so I'm having a funny feeling that's the bad variable / culprit.

Yeah my battery life has stabilised now to just around a day and a half. So I lost 12 hours or so, but it is still plenty enough. My Bluetooth issues seem to have rectified as well.

Well, I'm so very glad to hear that! Yeah, I just updated the pixel buds product support forums. You're good so, here's mine analysis; only for testing / troubleshooting purposes should you be using the Google app beta version. Or Google Assistant or any other issue. Because I didn't realize but it was raining about 8:00 to 9% of my battery per charge on my pixel 5 and beta 2. I have since last night exited the beta program of the Google app and running the normal version of the Google app, so far, it seems like I'm back to normal on my battery.

OK. I will downgrade immediately. Thanks for the info

It seems something happened overnight. My phone's response has become turbocharged, it is so much quicker than it was yesterday. Now to see how battery life is today.
I'm still on Google app Beta version.
