It seems that Samsung has delayed its Android 12 and One UI 4.0 beta release yet again and the expected roll-out for the beta test firmware for the eligible S21 devices will now not begin until sometime in October.

"Going by word on the grapevine, Samsung has once again postponed the rollout of the One UI 4.0 beta. Initial reports indicated a September release, starting with the Galaxy S21 series, but that will no longer be the case. The One UI 4.0 beta has supposedly been postponed, with Samsung choosing to spend some more time on bug-fixing instead. It looks likely that the beta will finally start rolling out in October."

This could postpone a stable release until December or early January.

If it's microphone or camera, it'll actually show the microphone and camera icon not downward pointing green arrow. That sounds more like download icon. May be some app update trying to happen in the background or something else trying to download.

I'd imagined someone misinterpreting the mic as a down arrow. Easily done.

A screenshot would help.

Could be, here is what the status bar will show if an app is using microphone. So, yeah I could see if the original poster confused this for downward arrow. Only they can answer that

I will try to get screenshot next time I see it, but the "thing" only shows for a couple of seconds.
You can go to permissions usage history in privacy and see what all accessed your camera, location, microphone etc.

Just go to settings and search for permission usage history. Once in permission usage history screen, click view all to see detailed history. That'll help you figure out what's going on. See example below

Had to roll back to old version. Way too many issues. Wifi calling sounded like a delayed robot and many apps didnt load. I've had many betas but this is the first time it didn't go well

Did you check for updates? Asking because I had that issue especially with this forum app in particular, but after all my apps updated the problem went away.

Yes, repeatedly. I even factory reset with the beta and it still was having the same issues. The biggest issue was the wifi calling. We get no mobile signal at our house and I depend on the wifi calling for work. The biggest pain now is that my business calendar isn't working after setting it up after rolling back to latest software.

One UI 4 Beta bad glitch

Second time in 2 days no apps would open. None. Couldn't even make a call. I had to restart phone, then everything ok. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: One UI 4 Beta bad glitch

You might be better off posting in the forum related to your device (@B. Diddy or @mustang7757 can move it there please?). I also suggest that you report your issue to Samsung. Whether or not you're the only one, one of the things a beta tester should do is report all bugs or issues so that the developer can investigate and patch them.

Can't report it to Samsung because the morons banned me.
