Android 16

I was on Beta 16 and exited before downloading QPR1 Beta1. I remember reading that if I exit, I'll get the "prod" Android 16 release once it's available. However, my phone (Pixel 7 Pro) still indicates that I need to install Android 15 with a data wipe in the system update section.

Never heard that before, you will have to opt out, then when you check for updates, it will detect the latest / stable version of Android 16 but it will wipe your phone. I'm never joining Android Beta anymore

It will wipe if you're on beta 16qpr1 and go stable , if you are on 16 qpr1 go to the Google site and unroll out of beta and see if it will take you to stable without a wipe

One bad thing is missing in Android beta on the official is material theme especially pull down notifications panel

The new material theme probably won't come out until Google releases the pixel 10 and stable you get June's update but a boring stable release lol

When I go to https://www.google.com/android/beta#devices, it shows my Pixel 7 pro as "Not Enrolled".

No way for me to force check for updates either.

I went back into Android Beta and un-enrolled the device. Waiting for the System Update to refresh to see what it'll show.

So yeah.. outed out of beta and now it's telling me to reinstall Android 15 to wipe the phone to go back to stable.

It took a while for it to show the Android 16 qpr1 beta update. I actually had to reboot my phone for it to show.

I'm still on official 16 when I opt in it shows beta QPR1 but no update available yet, maybe because I'm official 16 ? Why doesn't it show to jump to Android 16 QPR2 when I try to opt in but only QPR1?

FWIW, the update downloaded and installed -- slowly but uneventfully -- on my P9PXL last evening, and my device now shows that I'm on Android 16. No betas were harmed or otherwise involved in the implementation of this update.

That's odd. I might give it couple of days before I decide to either wipe and go 16 official or just go to 16 QPR1 beta.

So I flash back to Android 15 to get into beta again, I tried to flash to beta 2 wouldn't take so now downloading Android 16 QPR1 OTA
Fun haven't done this in awhile on pixels
