I just downloaded Android 17 beta 1. The install went well except I had to reboot the phone a couple of times and now everything seems to be working. Additionally, the Play service is now shows April 1st 2026.

Ugh, I'm not happy to report my phone is crashing left and right. I had to force reboot when the phone completely froze. And it looks like I've lost quite a few settings including lock screen and home screen settings.

I keep getting crashes left and right. Messages is almost unusable right now. I have to keep completely powering off. Leaving it for a minute. Then rebooting.
YMMV, but I would hesitate not installing yet. I've been doing every beta since 10 and this is the first time my phone is almost unusable.

I can't open the majority of my apps. Especially messages. If anyone is trying to reach me, they can't. Chrome keeps crashing. Even just going into settings crashes. I'm legit freaking out right now. I'm going to have to get my pixel 5 working again

Hey, you can't live on the cutting edge with a little blood from time to time
Mine's been running great after a few initial hiccups.
Like I said, I've been doing betas since 10 and this is the first time my phone is unusable. I can basically open one app then I have to reboot the phone.

That's something I've never done before. Going to have to research how to do that.
