Android 2.1 update file delete?

Hi, I have a file on my DX called "Android 2.1 update", I can see it when I open my uninstaller app, and I was wondering if I could delete the program or not? I know that sometimes when an update is applied the installer sticks around even though it's not needed, and id rather free up the space that it's taking up.
