Android 2.2.2

Okay, so after updating to 2.2.2, News and Weather widget was force closing immediately after the phone started. After doing a factory data reset, widget works fine now, problem solved.

Just got 2.2.2 OTA, and since I am officially the last person to get any OTA, that means the road ahead is clear for Gingerbread.....

Oh, and a Adobe Flash upgrade Also Appeared in the Market. Is this in any way related?

You're not, I just got mine.

If you rooted with the SuperOneClick method, I can confirm that it works and you can once again achieve root once you OTA to 2.2.2. I updated at 5:05, was rooted again at 5:10. Reinstalled Swype at 5:12.

Well, after updating to 2.2.2 and having to do factory data reset to get the News and Weather widget to work, I got all my apps back (I use the option to backup data to Google services) except for Slingplayer Mobile for Android (paid app). A search in Android Market doesn't even come up with any results! Any suggestions for this?

got the OTA notification today while at work, updated fine.

Haven't set/received any SMS so can't say if the issues have been resolved but for me it was mainly just either sending me to the wrong person from the main messaging menu or when tapping on a notification sending me to the main menu instead of the thread.

So apparently swype isn't working after this 2.2.2 update... says i have to contact swype because it was "for another device?" any ideas on how to resolve.

On a side note, i got swype before the revamp to the android keyboard, holy crap... its really nice... wish the revamp happened a while back... =)

yeah my swype isnt working either =[

i heard the gingerbread keyboard is fairly good

didnt google acquire blindtype?

i want gingerbread already o.O

2.2.2 didnt seem to really do anything at all tbh

You have to reinstall Swype using the swype installer everytime you do an update. It works fine. I'm using Swype now on 2.2.2 after re-rooting with SuperOneClick. The Gingerbread kb in the market is really good too

gingerbread kb in the market???? whaa?

The update arrived for me last night (UK here), installed with no problems at all.

I've never experienced the SMS bug so I haven't noticed any differences at all, everything has continued to run fine since the update. Still, it's a step closer to Gingerbread at least!

So after doing some googling looks like the reason i'm not seeing the paid app Slingplayer mobile in the Android Market (an app I paid for already) has something to do with the fact that its a protected app. Only solutions that i've found require rooting which i would like to avoid if possble. Anybody have any suggestions on a possble fix?

Is anybody else having wifi connectivity issues again? My N1 suddenly doesn't like to stay connected to my home network anymore when it's sleeping. Cycling the wifi in the power control widget brings it right back.

The WiFi will disconnect when the phone switches to a sleep state. It should reconnect when you wake up, may take a bit to reestablish. If you need to ensure it doesn't ever disconnect you can change it by popping up the menu under "WiFi Settings" and choosing "Advanced".

Once there set the WiFI Sleep Policy to "Never". I caution you though, setting to never may cause your battery to drain faster.

I just got my update on the N1; I guess it's true. You don't need a SIM card for the updates to be pushed!

I've seen the wifi sleep thing occasionally the last couple weeks but never noticed it before. But I'm pretty sure I saw it before I applied the update also. Just verified my settings are set to never sleep. My primary gmail account is also not syncing for the same period. It now never syncs unless I manually refresh. I have two other accounts that immediately notify of new mail.
