Android 2.2 (Froyo)?!?!

I think the only thing that is stopping from getting the i1 is the lack of an update to the latest software. Otherwise, I would willingly plop down 400 bucks for this phone. Has anybody heard anything new about whether or not this is gonna happen?

But does this have anything to do with an update on the Android software?

No its not the Android Update we are looking for but its an update nonetheless, it does add a YouTube app.

Motorola has stated that they needed to modify Android 1.5 so heavily that updates are probably never going to happen, simply because it is iDEN.

Excuses Excuses if they wanted too they could update it IDEN or NODEN in my opinion. Would like to see them keep tryn.

I just dumped my i1 for a LG Optimus V on Virgin after Motorola updated their software upgrade news page:

For ages people have been "hoping" and "doubting" Moto would update, now it's official.

Its sad to see that refuse to update a good phone that could be updated. No reason it should be stuck on 1.5.

I'm so glad I never made that $400 mistake. I also switched (back) to Virgin Mobile and picked up the Optimus V. Other than the short battery life, I love the phone.

Hello everyone I'm new here and I already feel a lack of commitment to staff who have motorola I1. We will press them to release the update or will we see if any developer or someone who understands the code can make it.

My suggestion? Drop the i1 and goto a real android. Epic 4G for example. I miss the ptt but the enhanced features make up for it.

There is suppose to be another bug fix/maintenance update coming out before March. We will see if we are forgotten about again.
