Tactical error in getting the Incredible?
I gave my Motorola Droid to my son so I could take his upgrade and got the incredible (it's fun being me). I figured that the Sense UI would be OK and heard good things about it. I do like it, but now I realize that when Google pumps out a new version (Froyo this week, and Gingerbread next week) the phones that use Stock Android will get the upgrades first. My son may have a cooler phone than me soon.
What most manufactures don't realize, or don't want us to realize, is that when a new version comes out, it's like getting a new phone for us. You bet we are excited about it and WANT IT NOW. Granted the number of smart phone owners who actually know in advance that a new O/S version is on it's way and look forward to it is incredibly small. Not enough for manufactures to modify their marketing strategies, yet.
How fast HTC comes up with Ver.2.2 for the Incredible will be a big factor as to whether I get another HTC phone when my next upgrade (actually my wife's) comes up.
