at least we know it exists........

not sure why they didn't show any tablet stuff last night.

Definitely good to see ICS compatible with tablets. I would liked to have seen tablet information released yesterday during the ICS/Galaxy presentation. But I'll give it to Google for saving the announcement for a future event.

This was my biggest question. Unification. Looks like Google focused on N3 first. Can't blame um, their tab market is dismal

I think because the event was for the launch of the Galaxy Nexus and ICS, not just ICS, they just focused on the OS as it will be on the Galaxy Nexus. It wasn't just a Google event, Samsung was revealing hardware that they hope can bring in some serious dollars. I don't think they wanted people to lose focus of that. The plan was always to integrate the phone and tablet aspects of Android with ICS.

that's kind of what i was thinking, didn't want to show off motorola hardware (it's a ged afterall) at a samsung event.

I saw this site too, one complaint I have is all the pics show the back, home, menu buttons with the black border going across the whole bottom of the device. If this is how ICS on Tabs is going to be, then we just lost some screen real estate. I would much rather see wallpaper, than a black bar across the bottom. BOO to this feature, and I thought I liked it on a phone!

Have a look at Honeycomb tablets... It's the same thing on there. Thing is it also includes the notification area as well as quick settings for wifi, screen rotation, airplane mode, brightness, etc. Just like the notification bar on top of the screen on a phone, except here it's at the bottom along with the menu buttons.

So it's not only how ICS tablets are going to be, it's how Honeycomb tablets already are, and to a certain extent mobile phones (with notification bar on top) and ICS phones (with the buttons at the bottom if they don't have physical/capacitive buttons).
